If I'm understanding it right ... the white glue adds "mass" to the Future so that when it dries you actually have that glassed-look? I've never really had a problem with Future schrinking when drying, but then again I usually give it 2-3 drops/ coats. I was thinking about tackling a 1/32 project sometime next year ... might have to try your technique with that scale. ... Thanks for the explaination, Rand!

... Thanks for the explaination, Rand! That's correct. Happy to help! Here is what I am bringing to the table. Its pretty much a repackaged F-14A with extra parts but it comes with VF-32 Swordsmen decals.

Rand , now that will be a great build ! Ok , time to get the 2 fuselage halvs together ......... , wait !!!! OOOPS !!!! The instructions show adding 9gm of weight to the nose !! I have no way of measuring that weight so i stole some of my wifes stained glass lead came ......... and stuck a few chunks of it in there . So know i can glue the fuselage together . I clamped , rubber banded and cloths pinned it together ..... the fit was actually good so i over did the clamping etc. etc ......

I'd say that I won't tell, but you already took and posted a picture of the crime!! HAHA! And you might have over done the weight just a smig .... 9gms is like 9x paper-clips of weight ... HAHAHA!!!!! Hopefully the front gear won't collapse! Just kidding .... Lookin' good so far, Carl. How's that kit, Rand? Have you opened it up and checked things out yet?

Yeah, Its opened and inspected. This F-14 kit comes with more weapons to build the Bombcat. Has the GBU's and an assortment of good weapons to mix and match.

Thanks Mark 1 an John !!! This -F was retrofitted with the '6-'3 hard wing . The kit provided wing fences have a brace at the base on both sides . The aircraft represented in this kit had a brace on the outside of the fence only . When i sanded the brace off if exposed the attachment holes in the wing so i filled them with plastic rod .

Man, everything is looking good here. I managed to get my cockpit assembled for my F-86F. I just have to paint it and add the decals. Then I can weight it and close up the fuselage.
Pics forthcoming...

Thanks for your comments Rand and Scott . I'm finishing up the seam at the wing root . I had a messcaused by using pure acetone .......... I masked off either side of the ring root and applied orange glazing putty in the seam . Tried cleaning it up with some dollar store finger nail polish remover but it wouldnt clean off the the putty It just pushed it around . So i broke out my can of straight acetone and cleaned up the putty . It cleaned it real well . Then i removed the masking tape ............ !!! The acetone that ran under the tape desolved the plastic ! I'm just now getting the surfaces cleaned up and will have to rescribe the panel lines . Looks like straight acetone desolves plastic . I was told that it wouldnt . The nail polishremover didnt affect the plastic .......nor the putty . Must be a weak blend .

Very nice work Carl. To give you some inspiration, here is something different. The last surviving airworthy Airframe in Australia has been given the complete works. We flew them from Korea up to the early 60,s.....Cheers Mark

Shell, your supposed to peel the tape off BEFORE applying nail posh remover or acetone. Arg I know mentioned this.

Rand , dont miss understand , you told me about the nail polish remover and i did not have a problem with it damaging the plastic . In fact the brand i have was to weak to fully remove the putty . There was no problem until i decided on my own to use the straight acetone . I was told about acetone on another site years ago . Like you said i should have removed the tape . Looks like staight acetone is a lot stronger than the the diluted acetone in finger nail polish remover . I should have explained myself better in the prviouse post . Hope your not arged at me still .

We'll post picks of it later when I bring it open and go through all the parts .... cause you know THAT's gonna happen.
